Deep in the mountains of the north of Scotland, Strathmore Lodge brings off-grid living to new heights.
The inspiration for Strathmore Lodge comes from the happy memories of our childhood. From the long Scandinavian summer days by the coast in simple wooden houses tugged low in the sand-dunes overgrown by long grasses swaying in the sea breeze. High blue skies above the soft waves slowly licking the sandy beaches. From the rainy and windy long autumn weekends sitting by the fireplace having a drink and reading a book left from last year's visit.
The small, tin-clad lodge was opened 2017 after an extensive renovation. It is a self catered property for up to six people.The Lodge has three double bedrooms with wonderful new beds. A bathroom with a showerhead (handheld) and bathtub. A cosy living room with an original Morsoe cast iron fireplace and a lovely kitchen that is the natural centre of the house.
THE SPACE
Strathmore Lodge is a self-catering cottage for up to six people in two double rooms and one twin room.
The cottage has a shared bathroom with a bath and handheld shower head, a kitchen with an Raeburn stove and a cosy living space with a log burning fire.
This is a very off-grid cottage. Limited wi-fi is available via satellite, however there is little to no cell phone coverage. We invite you to truly retreat into the wild.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Strathmore Lodge is offered on a self-catering basis only. That gives you the freedom to cook whatever you like during your stay.
We have stocked the kitchen with some good staples, including salt & pepper, cooking oil, tea, coffee, milk, butter and some pasta.
GOOD TO KNOW
Our cottages are family-friendly, and we are happy to provide a cot and a high chair if you wish. Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement - please let our booking team know. You can use your cottage at any time after 4pm on the day of arrival. We ask that you depart by 10am on your final day. This cottage is available for a minimum five night stay.
